Tarrytown – Assemblyman Tom Abinanti (D – 92nd AD – Greenburgh/Mt. Pleasant) today announced that he is seeking reelection this November.
“I have stood up for what’s right and made a real difference for the communities I represent and for New York,” said Abinanti. “I am proud of my record but there is still plenty more to do.”
Abinanti made his announcement after filing a Democratic Party designating petition containing over 1,700 signatures, well over three times the number needed. He has also been endorsed by the Working Families and Independence Parties.
“I’ve been a strong advocate for our suburbs and the issues we most care about,” said the Westchester Assemblyman. “I have fought for better education, a cleaner environment and more non-property tax revenues to hold down property taxes.”
Seeking his fourth term in the Assembly, Abinanti is known as a strong pro-choice voice, an advocate for commonsense measures to reduce gun violence and a leader in efforts to ensure that people with special needs are treated fairly and given the services they need.
“Going forward, my priorities will remain the same.” said Abinanti.
Before serving in the Assembly, Abinanti served in the Westchester County Legislature and on the Greenburgh Town Board. The 92nd Assembly District includes the Towns of Greenburgh and Mount Pleasant.
